Vietnam committed to carbon emission reductions beyond 2020

VTV.vn - Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung delivered a speech at the 21st Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change or COP 21.

 

At the event, the prime minister committed Vietnam to continued efforts to reduce carbon emission beyond 2020.

Speaking at COP 21, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung expressed his commitment to advocating and enhancing the negotiation and approval process of the global climate agreement beyond 2020. He also suggested that developed countries should take the lead in realising their commitments and support developing nations to successfully implement the agreement.

PM Dung also proposed the international community should deliver strong political commitments and effective co-operation and effectively realise a new global climate agreement in order to successfully implement the approved 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
