President Truong Tan Sang attended the first unofficial dialogue of APEC leaders with the Pacific Alliance. Participants also included representatives from Peru, Mexico, Chile and Colombia. President Sang expressed his support for enhanced co-operation between APEC member countries and the Pacific Alliance. He said the two frameworks should complement each other for further development in the context of current multilateral economic alliance.
Presiding over the APEC Business Advisory Council dialogue, President Truong Tan Sang together with New Zealand PM John Key, Indonesian Vice President Jusuf Kalla and United States Trade Representative Mike Froman discussed measures to promote co-operation among member countries. They discussed in depth measures to promote public-private partnerships in order to increase trade and investment. He also asserted Vietnam's commitment to the Bogor Goals on commercial and investment freedom.
On the sidelines of the 23rd APEC Summit, State President Sang met with Peruvian president Ollanta Humala where he emphasised the importance of co-operation between two countries. He looks forward to establishing the intergovernmental committee for economic and technical co-operation.
At another meeting, President Truong Tan Sang and Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak agreed that 2015 was an important year for the two countries, as their strategic partnership had been established. President Sang hoped to speed up the signing and implementation of the TPP agreement, and promote the exchange of experiences with Malaysia in the future.
The Vietnamese State President also welcomed Hong Kong Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying. He expressed his joy at the co-operation between two countries in economics, investment and tourism, Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying also cited plans to create favourable conditions for Vietnamese people in Hong Kong.
