NA votes in support of transgender rights

The country’s lawmakers voted to recognize the rights of people who have undergone gender reassignment surgeries, during a National Assembly (NA) session on Nov 24.

With 282 of 366 votes, the NA decided that those who have undergone gender reassignment surgeries would not just be allowed, but  be required to make changes to their personal records at Government agencies, and would  retain all rights as provided under the country’s laws.
