On October 2nd, the Indian naval ship INS Sahyari with a crew of 300 arrived in the central city of Danang and was welcomed at Tiên Sa Port by city authorities, representatives from the Ministry of Defence, and Vietnamese Navy and Border Guard forces stationed in the region.
The INS Sahyari is one of three Shivalik-class stealth multi-role frigates of the Indian Navy, equipped with state-of-the-art weapons. During its 4-day visit, the ship’s crew will hold meetings with Danang City authorities, Military Region 5, and Naval Region 3. Indian naval personnel will also play a friendly match of volleyball with their Vietnamese counterparts. Finally, before they depart, the two sides will hold joint search-and-rescue rehearsals at sea. This year is the third consecutive year Danang City welcomes a the Indian naval force.
