HÀ NỘI — Vietnamese students have gained one silver and four bronze medals at the 2018 World Mathematics Olympiad.

The competition was held at the United States’ Stanford University on Saturday (August 11).

All Vietnamese winners were sixth graders from Trần Đại Nghĩa Secondary School for Gifted Students in HCM City.

This is the third year Việt Nam has participated in the final of the World Mathematics Olympiad, competing with students from eight other countries – the US, Canada, the UK, China, the Republic of Korea, Thailand, Singapore and Mexico.

This year, tests at the World Mathematics Olympiad focused on exploring creativity, teamwork, logical capacity and problem-solving skills.
