NINH BÌNH — Lạc Hồng University’s LH – Galaxy team representing Việt Nam at the 2018 ABU Asia – Pacific Robot Contest (ABU Robocon) beat China team to win the competition for the seventh time.
The contest initiated by NHK, the Japanese national broadcasting corporation, was held Sunday in the northern province of Ninh Bình.
This year featured 19 teams from 18 countries including two from Việt Nam.
According to Lưu Ngọc Ánh, member of the contest organising board, the 2018 ABU Robobon’s concept is built on the Vietnamese folk game called “ném còn” (shuttlecock throwing) which requires high accuracy and skill.
This is the third time Việt Nam has hosted the contest designed for technology students in the Asia-Pacific region.
The 2019 ABU Robocon will be held in Mongolia. — VNS
