The section of the four-lane highway was opened by the Ministry of Transport and the Việt Nam Expressway Corporation (VEC) and permits a maximum speed of 120km per hour.
VEC officials said the entire 139.52km Đà Nẵng-Quảng Ngãi Highway will open for public use by the end of this year.
The total investment for the project is around US$1.64 billion. Of this, $798 million has been borrowed (with interest) from Japan International Co-operation Agency and $590 million from World Bank; the remaining is from the State budget.
