HÀ NỘI — A heat wave is forecast for northern and central localities from Thursday until Sunday, according to the National Hydro-meteorological Forecast Centre.
Temperatures during the day will reach 36 to 39 degrees Celsius.
Mountainous areas in the central region are predicted to reach 39 to 40 degrees Celsius.
Between 12 and 16 hours a day are forecast to experience temperatures of more than 35 degrees Celsius.
After a series of cool days, Hà Nội will experience increasing heat with 32 to 35 degrees Celsius on Tuesday and Wednesday and up to 38 degrees from Thursday until the end of the week.
According to the centre, the coming heat wave is not as intense as the one in the middle of last month.
The heat will end on Sunday and next Monday when rain is predicted to engulf the northern and central regions.
Experts said rain might come with whirlwinds and hail storms this season. — VNS
