HCM CITY — Local authorities in Hồ Chí Minh City yesterday decided to confiscate a large number of guns illegally transported to Việt Nam, the Customs Office of the Tân Sơn Nhất International Airport said.
In July 2015, the office worked with the Economic Security Department (A85) and relevant agencies under the Ministry of Public Security to examine three parcels without legal documents on a flight from Turkey to the Tân Sơn Nhất Airport.
Folllowing examination, the agencies discovered 94 pistols with laser sights, 472 new cartridge belts and other components, which were hidden as normal cargo.
The weapons were made in the Czech Republic.—VNS
