Hà Nội to check safety of old buildings

HÀ NỘI — The Hà Nội administration will conduct initial inspection of the safety of old buildings across the city from August 16 to December 16.

This includes residential buildings constructed before 1994, and office buildings and villas constructed more than 60 years ago.

Detailed assessments of the safety of these old residential buildings are scheduled to be made next year.

The decision follows the signing of an official document recently by Vice Chairman of the capital’s People’s Committee Nguyễn Thế Hùng, which aims to ensure the safety of local residents living in and around old buildings in the city. — VNS
