HÀ NỘI — Hà Nội has proposed building a road connecting Pháp Vân-Cầu Giẽ Highway with Belt Road No.3 from 2020 to 2022.
The project, which has been filed to the Prime Minister and Ministry of Planning and Investment, has a tentative investment of VNĐ2.5 trillion (US$107.6 million) including more than VNĐ1 trillion ($43 million) for land clearance allocated from the city’s public budget.
The road, spanning over 3.4km, is expected to ease traffic congestion at Pháp Vân Intersection – the capital’s gateway. According to a report by Hà Nội authorities, its total land use demand is about 39.9ha. The resettlement plan is being developed to ensure the project’s progress.
“The project is essential for the capital’s traffic system in terms of connecting main roads, reducing pressure on Belt Road No.3 and fostering economic development of Hoàng Mai, Thanh Trì districts and Hà Nội’s south and southeast areas,” reads a statement from the city’s People’s Committee. — VNS
