ĐÀ NẴNG — Đà Nẵng’s Department of Information and Communications on Friday rejected the authenticity of a document that said a new bridge was going to be built in the city, saying it had been faked to create a real estate craze.
A photo capturing Decision No 738/UBND-XDCB signed and sealed by the Đà Nẵng People’s Committee Chairman Huỳnh Đức Thơ on October 31 has been spreading fast on Facebook.
According to the so-called decision, the chairman had approved a plan to build a bridge connecting Bùi Tá Hán Street in Ngũ Hành Sơn District and the Hòa Xuân Eco Residential Park in Cẩm Lệ District.
“Đà Nẵng’s Urban Management Division and the People’s Committee Office confirm that the document is fake,” the communications department stated.
“The document is intended to create a property craze in Ngũ Hành Sơn and Cẩm Lệ.”
Authorities are investigating who is behind the fake news.
Đà Nẵng is actually planning to build the bridge in question, however, nothing has been concluded as the Department of Construction is still drawing its plan for 2030 with a vision towards 2045.
The bridge would still need Prime Minister’s Nguyễn Xuân Phúc’s approval.
Hòa Xuân Eco Residential Park witnessed a real estate craze back in 2017 when the city built a bridge connecting Minh Mạng Street with the area. Land prices immediately doubled following the construction of the bridge. — LV
