-- Vietnam's State President Tran Dai Quang left Moscow for Saint Petersburg city on June 30, continuing activities within the framework of his official visit to Russia

-- The Vietnamese and South Korea legislatures should enhance exchanges and cooperation to contribute to the enhance of relations between the two countries, Uong Chu Luu, deputy chairman of Vietnam's National Assembly told South Korean top legislator Chung Sye-kyun in Seoul on Friday.

 

-- The Saigon Notre-Dame Basilica, a popular landmark in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City, is expected to undergo a VND100 billion (US$4.41 million) maintenance process as several parts of the centuries-old architecture are showing signs of deterioration.

-- Vietnam’s fruit and vegetable exports topped $1.7 billion in the the first half of 2017, a healthy 45 percent increase year on year, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has reported.

-- An energy-from-waste incinerator, the first of its kind in Vietnam, broke ground in the southern city of Can Tho with a total investment of $45.6 million.

-- Two shipbuilders responsible for 18 fishing boats which suffered damage shortly after delivery to fishermen in the south-central province of Binh Dinh have admitted their wrongdoings and pledged to cover all the costs of fixing those damages for affected boat owners.
