17 new bridges open to traffic in Long An

Nông Thôn Việt magazine’s Rural Bridges Programme on Monday in collaboration with donors and the people’s committees of Mộc Hóa District and Kiến Tường Town in Long An Province, officially opened 17 bridges in the two localities, witnessed by former President Trương Tấn Sang.

LONG AN — Seventeen bridges were officially open to traffic in the southern provice of Long An’s Mộc Hóa District and Kiến Tường Town on Tuesday under the presence of former President Trương Tấn Sang.

Mộc Hóa District and Kiến Tường Town are on the Cambodian border.

The bridges cost more than VNĐ18.09 billion (nearly US$778,000), of which nearly VNĐ14.7 billion was funded by enterprises.

Trường Hải Auto Corporation (THACO), Đồng Tâm Group, Minh Hưng Group and Hải Sơn Co Ltd funded a total of VNĐ10.45 billion to build 10 bridges in Mộc Hóa District.

In addition, seven new bridges built in Kiến Tường Town were funded by THACO, Rạng Đông Plastic JSC and Viettel Group.

On the occasion, Minh Hưng Group and Rạng Đông Plastic JSC donated a total of 200 gifts worth VNĐ60 million to poor households in Kiến Tường Town.
