On March 22, the Youth Union of the agencies and enterprises bloc of Yen Bai province coordinated with relevant units to distribute leaflets on the COVID-19 epidemic, presented 3,000 masks and over 200 antibacterial soap bars to needy households and traders at residential markets in Yen Bai city, and offered guidance to locals on how to properly wash hands, wear masks and perform voluntary health declarations.
On the occasion, the organising committee launched a donation campaign for COVID-19 prevention and control among local youth union members and young people through the form of text messaging.
The Youth Union of Ho Chi Minh City’s district 6 on Monday organised the “Good Deeds Day” programme with a variety of practical activities, such as implementing youth works “Renovating the community study centre” and “Environmentally friendly toilets”, gifting kids playgrounds and “Green Space” works to residential areas free-of-charge, and visiting and presenting gifts to revolutionary contributors. Within the framework of the “Rising above from will” programme, the organisers presented livelihood support to disadvantaged households in the district.
On March 21, the Youth Federation and the Young Physicians’ Association of HCM City coordinated with relevant units to visit and present 1,000 protection suits, 4,500 medical masks, 200 N95 masks, 10,000 chicken eggs and 500kg of rice to officials and medical workers at Cu Chi district’s acute respiratory disease hospital, in a joint effort to combat COVID-19.
Youth union members and young people of the Binh Thuan Province General Hospital have just manufactured over 120 goggles for medical workers in service of COVID-19 prevention and control. This youth project was completed in just one day with a budget of VND500,000, donated by the hospital’s youth union members. After these goggles were put into use, the model has been responded to by many Youth Union units in the province to support doctors in combating the epidemic.
Over the weekend, the Youth Union of Ba Don Town (Quang Ninh province) mobilised hundreds of union members and young people to clean isolation areas and disinfect medical equipment, to welcome overseas compatriots returning home. At the same time, they worked with functional forces to establish areas for body temperature inspection and sample taking, aiming to prepare the best conditions for COVID-19 isolation work.
