In Thua Thien Hue province, the provincial youth union hosted a Youth Day on March 20, attracting enthusiastic participation from youth union members, and youth clubs in the locality. Participants at the event took part in exciting team building activities and folk games.
At the event, the provincial youth union also honoured 15 outstanding grassroots youth union branches for their excellent achievements in mobilising their members’ participation and contributions to youth activities.
The same day, the Thua Thien Hue provincial Centre for Children and Adolescents launched a Culture and Sports Week for Children and Adolescents.
Running through April 3, the week will feature various activities, including a free-swimming class for children, a swimming contest, a dancing festival, and a child drowning prevention programme.
* Also on March 20, the Hanoi youth union held a Youth Festival in Dan Phuong district, during which the organising board presented 20 gifts, worth 800,000 VND each, to disadvantaged children and young workers in the locality.

The city’s youth union also commenced the construction of a 150 million-VND children’s play area and two social housing projects worth 160 million VND in total for the poor in the district.
* In Da Nang city, a blood donation programme was held at Da Nang University by the Vietnam Red Cross’s chapter in Da Nang and the city’s youth union.
The programme, the 19th of its kind to be held at Da Nang University so far, received 261 units of blood donated by students and the teaching staff of the university.
