Youth day 2015 connects charitable Vietnamese youths
VTV.vn - Youth Day 2015 took place in Hanoi on Sunday 23, August.

20 year old Nguyễn Đức Chính is the leader of “So Vietnam” – a volunteer group that has participated in Youth Day for the past 4 years. This year, his group made a music clip “Youth Day 2015 Song” about the youth and the East Sea. And as usual, Chinh and the other 80 members are donating blood – the festival’s main activity.

Nguyen Duc Chinh, Leader, "So Vietnam" Volunteer Group said: "We are very proud that “So Vietnam” has been a loyal part of Youth Day for many years. Besides the main activity of blood donation, there are many other activities where we can use our creativity and ideas to have fun."

Youth Day is an annual event, organized by the Hanoi Association of Young Blood Donor Recruiters. For the past 6 years, it has been a festival where charitable activities are combined with music performances, photo exhibitions, camping and folk games.

Tran Duc Hoang, Head of Organisers, Youth Day 2015 said: Youth Day 2015 has 12 side activities, much more than the previous festivals. These include a song competition, new games, and a bike ride. We are always trying to bring new things to Youth Day every year.

Pham Thu Hien, Participant, Youth Day 2015 said: The atmosphere is very dynamic and fun. I feel motivated to do many good things for society.

According to the organisers, from 7am to 5pm, Youth Day 2015 welcomed about 4000 volunteers and received about 2000 blood units for the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion. It will help ease the pressure of blood shortages in the summer.

More than a simple call for blood donation, Youth Day 2015 has become a place where compassion and enthusiasm meet creativity and fun, a real festival for the charitable youths with a passion to make a better society.
