The Vietnamese team consisted of students from the Hưng Yên University of Technology and Education.
The Hưng Yên Techedu team rose above competitors from Egypt, Japan, and Indonesia at the regional contest, before claiming a 5-1 victory over the Hong Kong team. First held in 2002 by the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union, ABU Robocon requires participating robots to complete tasks within a set period of time. The event is broadcast in many countries through ABU member broadcasters.
