This is a large-scale wind power plant project for SocTrang province with a capacity of 120MW. The plant will be built in two phases on a total area of 3,100ha.
The first phase of the plant will have investment of nearly VND1.5 trillion (US$64.7 million) and a capacity of 30MW while the second phase of the plant will haveinvestment of nearly VND4.2 trillion (US$181.3 million)and a capacity of 90MW.
Chairman of the Board of Directors of Soc Trang Energy JSC To Duy pledged that the first phase of the project willbe completed in the third quarter of 2021 with an estimated electricity volume of 108 GWh per year.
Addressing the groundbreaking ceremony, Vice Chairman of Soc Trang provincial People’s Committee Lam Hoang Nghiep said the province has 72km of coastline with many advantages in terms of developing wind power, adding that the wind power No.7 facility will help bring about sustainable benefits for the Mekong Delta region.
Xuan Cau Holdings is also preparing to build the NhonHoi wind power plant in Quy Nhon city, Binh Dinhprovince with a capacity of 60MW. The VND2.6 trillion(US$112.2 million) plant is expected to be put into operation in the third quarter of 2021.
