This is according to the "Make a house become a home" report released by the Gender Equality Department and ActionAid Vietnam. Research shows that women spend an average of 4.5 hours a day, 32 hours a week, 207 days a year on unpaid work.
Women spend 7 months annually working without wages. Unpaid work involves housework and family care such as cooking and laundry.
Although this type of work is usually time-consuming and heavy, causing women to sacrifice their interests, unpaid work often goes unrecognized.
