The bridge, which cost US$7 million to build, is 114m long and 12m wide and has two lanes for vehicles. It is built on 100 hectare plot at a total cost of US$60 million, with cold storages, dry warehouses and other infrastructure of international standard.
The floating bridge is expected to boost import-export activities between the two border cities and their and economic development, and minimise the impact of the climate on goods transport. It will also help reduce transportation cost.
