Trieu Mui Chai, a Red Dao woman had suffered from a rare brain herniation that has resulted in a huge tumour developing on her face.
The tumour kept growing through 25 years, damaging one of her eyes and disfiguring her face.
Doctors from Viet - Duc Hospital and the Hanoi Central Oral and Maxillofacial Hospital held a consultation and then conducted brain surgery for Chai.
The operation lasted for 9 hours and the tumour was removed from her face. The patient has recovered and will be released in the next 1 to 2 days.
