The first prize went to Duong Ut, a journalist at Dong Thap province’s Newspaper, for his article featuring 60-year-old farmer Nguyen Anh Dung from Dinh An commune, Lap Vo district, Dong Thap province, who has successfully produced many new high-quality rice varieties.
The ceremony featured songs and dances praising President Ho Chi Minh and the country’s revolutionary cause, which have been learnt by heart by many generations of Vietnamese people.
The contest, launched by the People’s Army Newspaper, received 150 entries spotlighting Party members, officers and ordinary people across the country who have contributed to the national construction and development through their good deeds and services at work.
Addressing the awards ceremony, Politburo member, Secretary of Party Central Committee (PCC) and Head of PCC Commission for Mass Mobilisation, Truong Thi Mai hailed that through its editions, the writing contest has helped to spread exemplary models, and boost the campaign on studying and following of the thoughts, morals, and style of President Ho Chi Minh, thus contributing to enhancing Party building.
On the occasion, the organising board announced the launching of the 11th edition of the writing contest, which was renamed ‘Following Uncle Ho’s bright examples’.
