The contest was launched by Nhan Dan newspaper under the sponsorship of Truong Hai Auto Corporation from May 12 to 23 to celebrate SEA Games 31.
It attracted enthusiastic participation of both amateur and professional photographers across the country, with more than 800 entries being submitted.
Speaking at the event, member of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper, hailed that the entries captured beautiful moments from SEA Games 31, the largest sports event in Southeast Asia.
Minh, who is also Deputy Head of the PCC Commission for Communication and Education, and Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association, added that the submissions highlighted the sportsmanship and solidarity of athletes, sports fans and ASEAN countries in general.
At the award ceremony, the organising board presented one first, two second, three third, and ten consolation prizes to the most outstanding entries.
Sharing about his first prize-winning photo entitled ‘Ve Dich’ (Reaching the finish line), photographer Truong Anh Duc from Hanoi said that he was lucky to capture the moment when runner Luong Huu Phuoc sprinted to the finish line, far ahead of other competitors to win the gold medal in the men’s 1500m event at SEA Games 31.
