Whirlwind kills one, damages nearly 600 houses in An Giang

The victim was a farmer herding ducks on a field in Nhơn Hưng Commune, Tịnh Biên District. He was struck by lightning. Nine of the 600 houses were completely destroyed. The most damaged area is Tân Châu Commune.

After the disaster, local authorities visited affected families, helped them secure temporary shelters and gave them necessities and rice. Commune-level police and military forces have been assisting residents in moving assets and repairing their houses, while safeguarding local security and order.
