With a mission to lead the digital transformation of the TV industry, Vietnam Television has been researching and developing the VTVgo Internet TV platform for nearly 10 years. Officially becoming a national digital TV platform, VTVGo integrates 7 major TV channels as well as local TV channels, serving the needs of not only domestic audiences but also the families of many expatriates.
The TV channels and many attractive programs that can only be viewed through traditional TV or websites, individual applications of each channel, are now present in a single application, which is convenient to meet the needs of the audience.
According to Mr. Nguyen Ha Yen, Deputy Director of the Department of Broadcasting and Electronic Information, the VTVgo platform will reach tens of millions of Vietnamese across the country, overseas Vietnamese, people, foreigners who sympathize with Vietnam and want to learn about Vietnam. VTVGo will also be richer and more diverse to meet the needs of viewers, from political news to sports, movies, and entertainment programs.
Pham Anh Chien, Deputy Director of Vietnam Television's Digital Content Development and Production Centre, said: "With a mission to provide information to a variety of audiences, VTVgo's content is very rich. We have positioned core content such as news, shows and movies, as well as game shows, sports and documentaries.
Mr Nguyen Thanh Lam, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, also emphasised that "Vietnam Television has clearly demonstrated its leadership role based on the foundation built with Vietnam Television's resources to integrate essential local channel content into a single digital platform."
To date, the VTVgo app has been downloaded more than 45 million times across all platforms. With the support of the Ministry of Information and Communications, VTVgo will soon be pre-installed on smart TVs, making it easier for viewers to watch and stream content produced by VTV and other TV stations in Vietnam.
