VTV wins best breaking news of AsiaVision Award

This is ABU's annual AsiaVision Award for TV channels that make outstanding contributions to the development of the Association.

Vietnam Television received the "Best Breaking News" award for reporting on the 2nd high level meeting between the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and the US, attended by US President Donald Trump and the North Korean leader Kim Chong Un, in Hanoi.

According to Javad Mottaghi, ABU Secretary-General, Vietnam Television Station was chosen because it excelled in conveying information and images of this event in the fastest way. Through Asiavision's information exchange system of ABU, news about the historic meeting was shared by 272 TV channels of 76 ABU member countries. VTV was also nominated in two other awards categories: Best Picture Award and Best Story Award.
