The annual Media Awards on Human Rights, with the theme “Happy Vietnam 2025”, are jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, and Vietnam Television. The awards encouraged broad participation from people across Vietnam, overseas Vietnamese communities, and international friends. Participants are asked to create photographs, videos, and innovative ideas that tell meaningful stories and share discoveries about the theme of “Happy Vietnam”. Through this program, the program organizers seek to spread positive images of Vietnam and its people. At the same time, the awards also promote and disseminate the nation’s precious cultural and historical traditions, as well as its socio-economic development achievements, to audiences at home and abroad, thereby enhancing the country’s reputation and standing on the international stage.
In 2025, Vietnam climbed eight places compared to 2024 and 19 places compared to 2023, ranking 46th globally on the World Happiness Index. This milestone reflects international recognition of Vietnam’s policies, achievements, and sustained efforts in ensuring human rights in recent years. Through the awards, the Organizing Committee aims to convey the message of a rapidly developing Vietnam that is advancing comprehensively across all fields, from breakthroughs in science and technology development to innovation, and national digital transformation; international integration in a new context; reforms in law-making and law enforcement; and the fast, sustainable, effective, and high-quality development of the private economic sector.
Submitted works should introduce and promote the image of Vietnam and its people, as well as the country’s cultural and natural values across all regions; inspire national pride and dignity; and ignite aspirations for development among all segments of Vietnamese society. The shared goal is to build a more prosperous, thriving, and happy Vietnam.
The awards are given in two categories: Photography and Video. At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee will honor the winners in each category as follows: One First Prize, two Second Prizes, three Third Prizes, ten Consolation Prizes, and one Most Voted Work. In addition, to encourage creativity, one Creative Award, valued at VND 20,000,000, will be presented in each category (photography and video) for works featuring innovative ideas in both content and presentation.
The “Happy Vietnam 2025” Media Awards on Human Rights Ceremony will be broadcast live at 8:00 PM on December 6 on VTV4, as well as on the Vietnam Today website and mobile application. Please stay tuned!
