VTV ready to be the host of the Firth Asian Beach Games (ABG 2016)
VTV.vn - Vietnam Television will allocate skillful and professional workforce along with modern technical facilities to ensure the smooth broadcast operation for hosting the Firth Asian Beach Games (ABG 2016).

On April 29th, VTV Vice President, Mr. Pham Viet Tien had a meeting with the delegation from Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism headed by Mr. Le Khanh Hai – Deputy Minister to discuss on VTV’s preparation for the Firth Asian Beach Games (ABG2016).

According to Mr. Le Khanh Hai, the Firth Asian Beach Games is an important international sport event that Vietnam has privileges to be the host country in 2016. This is not only a sport competition, but an opportunity for promoting the culture, people and the beauty landscapes of Vietnam to international friends worldwide as well.

Mr. Le Khanh Hai also confirmed that the Steering Committee and Organizing Committee of ABG 2016 have approved VTV to be the official broadcaster of the event. As such, VTV will provide international clean feeds of the sports, live coverage of Opening and Closing Ceremony, set up an International Broadcast Center (IBC)… Additionally, VTV will be assigned to produce of 5-10 mins daily highlight with English commentary on ABG 2016.

In recognition of the Ministry’s appreciation on VTV, Vice President Pham Viet Tien affirmed that VTV will try its best to promote the event on VTV’s channels and to fulfill its role as host broadcaster as well. The tasks of site survey and preparation for IBC set-up has been assigned to the Sports Department to ensure the timeline, Mr. Pham Viet Tien added.

As scheduled, ABG 2016 will take place from September 24th to October 3rd 2016 in Danang. There will be around 4.600 coaches and athletes, coming from 45 countries and regions to take part in the competition. ABG 2016 will consist of 14 disciplines with 22 sports and 165 sets of medals. Vietnam will compete in all disciplines and most of the sports.
