The launch ceremony for the VTV Ratings Index Dashboard and the VTVgo development of took place at VTV on the afternoon of December 12. . In attendance were Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam, Director General of Vietnam Television; Mr. Do Thanh Hai, Mr. Dinh Dac Vinh, and Mr. Le Quyen, Deputy Directors General of Vietnam Television, along with leaders of VTV’s affiliated units and representatives of AMI Group, the company that owns the NEO-TAM platform.

At the ceremony, guests heard Mr. Pham Anh Chien present the impressive development milestones of the national digital television platform VTVgo and the VTV Ratings audience measurement index system. Among these, VTVgo has increasingly attracted a large international audience.

Mr. Pham Anh Chien stated that the measurement system provides a comprehensive overview of viewer behavior, highlighted by detailed data such as the number of viewers accessing the national digital television platform VTVgo on a daily, monthly, and yearly basis, as well as maps showing regions around the world where audiences VTVgo is watched. This serves as a foundation for VTV to make its audience data more transparent through a Big Data index dashboard, which is continuously updated in real time every three minutes. Detailed information on age groups, gender, device types, and trending content of the day is clearly displayed, forming a valuable database for future optimization and refinement.

Notably, the VTV Ratings indicators were also publicly introduced. VTV Ratings is a multi-platform television audience measurement index system of Vietnam Television, using multi-source data on audience viewing behavior across VTV’s television channels and digital platforms. As a result of a measurement approach that applies Big Data technology and data science, VTV Ratings represents a significant step forward for Vietnam Television in keeping pace with modern media trends, especially in light of substantial changes in television viewing habits among audiences.
Not only is VTV Ratings a tool for performance evaluation, it also supports television production units in making strategic decisions, such as setting content directions, understanding audience preferences, and accurately exploiting and assessing advertising resources across both broadcast and digital platforms. It also optimizes distribution channels and content scheduling.
