VTV prepares extensively for the national live broadcast of the April 30th celebration and parade

VTV.vn - The national celebration and military parade commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification will be broadcast live on VTV1 starting at 7:00 AM on April 30 (from 6:30 AM on VTVgo).

To mark the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2025), Vietnam Television (VTV) has produced a series of special programs with rich content and diverse formats across its broadcast channels and digital platforms. Among the most anticipated events by domestic and international audiences is the national celebration and parade, which will be broadcast live on VTV1 from 7:00 AM on April 30 (from 6:30 AM on VTVgo).

Vietnam Television (VTV) has mobilized a team of 200 experienced technical staff, reporters, and directors from its affiliated units, along with 6 mobile broadcast  vans, 2 satellite trucks, 46 cameras, over 100 microphones, and specialized equipment to ensure stable and high-quality signal transmission. Everything is fully prepared to deliver historically significant images to viewers nationwide during the live broadcast of the parade and march commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.

Mr. Do Duc Hoang, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Television, stated that VTV has thoroughly and meticulously prepared for the large-scale live broadcast of the ceremony, parade, and march commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification. The broadcaster has mobilized all resources, including equipment and technical machinery, to serve the production. VTV expects the program to fully convey the heroic spirit of the celebration and parade to both domestic and international audiences .

Over the past few months, VTV has proactively coordinated with the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Public Security, the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, and relevant authorities to survey locations, finalize organizational plans, develop detailed scripts, and implement security, technical, and logistical arrangements for the event.

Alongside the rigorous training of officers and soldiers, VTV’s  highly skilled and creative production team has worked around the clock to ensure that the broadcast features the most striking visuals of the parade.

Mr. Tu Luong, Director of VTV’s Ho Chi Minh City Center (VTV9), said that the first coordination meeting  among  VTV departments responsible for the live broadcast was held two months ago. “We aim to bring the most authentic atmosphere of the ceremony and parade to viewers, showcasing the continued strength of the People's Army and Public Security Forces after 50 years of national reunification”, he said.

VTV has worked closely with the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Public Security, the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, and other agencies to ensure the highest level of preparation for the live broadcast.

With 46 cameras deployed, viewers nationwide will for the first time, enjoy extraordinary perspectives, from helicopters, the rooftops of Ho Chi Minh City's tallest buildings, to ground-level close-ups of marching officers and soldiers.

Mr. Pham Tuan Binh from the Digital Content Production and Development Center (VTV Digital) said: “From day one, we have observed all the parade formations, from rehearsals to final drills, to get the best  angles. We  constantly ask ourselves: what do our viewers want to see? We carefully calculate how to position each parade block, how much airtime each will get, and which angles  will deliver the most impactful visuals”.

Many meetings have been held to meticulously plan every aspect, from the overall concept to the most detailed tasks.

Beyond traditional television, the ceremony and parade will be widely shared across VTV’s digital content ecosystem. Notably, on the national digital platform VTVgo, in addition to the main broadcast feed, viewers will enjoy a unique experience by choosing their preferred camera angles to view specific parade formations.
