Data and User Behavior are The Core of Future Development
On October 9, Vietnam Television officially inaugurated the 2025 Broadcasting Technology Exhibition. The event attracted a large number of delegates, guests, and leading technology enterprises from both Vietnam and abroad. This annual event promotes awareness of the National Digital Transformation Day and highlights the importance of digital transformation in shaping the future of Vietnam’s broadcasting industry.
In attendance were Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam, General Director of Vietnam Television; Mr. Dinh Dac Vinh, Deputy General Director of VTV; and representatives from 10 leading technology enterprises specializing in IP transmission, remote production, cloud computing, 4K imaging, and artificial intelligence (AI). Exhibitors showcased state-of-the-art solutions and equipment, illustrating the growing convergence of traditional broadcasting and modern digital technology in production, storage, and content distribution.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Lam, emphasized that Vietnam Television is undergoing a comprehensive technological transformation. This involves more than investments in new equipment or solutions,; it also involves fostering an innovative mindset when applying technology across every stage, from production and content distribution to the development of new business models in the digital era.
“Data and user behavior will determine the efficiency of VTV’s production and distribution systems, as well as the success of Vietnam Television in the digital era”, said Mr. Lam.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam, General Director of Vietnam Television, emphasizes that VTV is transitioning to a comprehensive phase of technological transformation.
According to Mr. Lam, digital transformation at VTV is not a separate initiative but rather an integrated vision shared by the entire organization, from leadership to production, engineering, data, and business units. Supportive national policies, particularly after the adoption of major frameworks such as Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on Science, Technology, and Innovation, have created favorable conditions for media organizations like VTV to adopt a more proactive and flexible approach to technology investments and partnerships.
Building a National Digital Broadcasting Ecosystem
Mr. Lam also noted that every department and unit within VTV is actively adapting to meet modernization requirements. Simplified procurement and investment mechanisms have empowered autonomous entities such as VTV to accelerate both infrastructure and operational transformation.
Rather than limiting cooperation to technology acquisition, VTV aims to co-develop and jointly exploit business opportunities with its partners. VTV will leverage its strengths as a national broadcaster with a digital platform of tens of millions of users, and an extensive archive of valuable content.
“VTV is ready to take small steps, to work together, learn together, and overcome challenges together, to build a modern digital broadcasting ecosystem that better serves the audience”, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam emphasized.
In the coming period, VTV’s collaboration priorities will focus on innovative production and storage systems, data analytics solutions, and AI applications to optimize production and broadcasting workflows. The broadcaster embraces the principle of “learning by doing” as a practical approach to innovation, encouraging experimentation and incremental change from within each department to create momentum across the entire system.
Mr. Dinh Dac Vinh, Deputy General Director of VTV, joins delegates and guests in touring the exhibition area.
The Broadcasting Technology Exhibition once again demonstrates VTV’s pioneering role in driving the media industry’s digital transformation and in developing a modern national broadcasting technology ecosystem. For VTV’s internal workforce, the exhibition offers valuable hands-on experiences for everyone from technicians and reporters to management teams. It enables them to interact directly with new technologies, strengthen their professional skills, and foster a culture of creativity and innovation. The event also provides leadership with a practical foundation for making informed, effective technology investment decisions.
User data and behavior will play a decisive role in enhancing Vietnam Television’s production–distribution system and ensuring its future success.
Following the opening ceremony, delegates and guests explored the exhibition and experienced new technologies firsthand. Alongside the showcase, VTV organized a series of specialized events to mark Digital Transformation Day, including a studio talk show on October 10 and a technical seminar led by Sony experts later that day.
Through its proactive and pioneering spirit, Vietnam Television reaffirms its leading position in the digital transformation of the media industry, contributing to the creation of a modern, innovative, and globally connected Vietnamese broadcasting landscape.
