VTV attempts Dolby surround 5.1 technology in liveshow “Bai hat yeu thich”
VTV.vn - Vietnam Television (VTV)in coordination with Dolby Laboratories, Inc.implemented an testing broadcast using surround 5.1 technology in liveshow of “Bai hat yeu thich” via digital terrestrial television signals.

Throughout the performance, engineers from Dolby broadcast severalextracts of movies and TV shows using surround 5.1 technology with dynamic sound quality, which delivered extreme natural feelings to the audience. Afterthat, almost all the guests were truly convinced by the excellentsound quality during the August liveshow of “Bai hat yeu thich” – the very first TV show in Vietnam applied advanced surround 5.1 technology of/introduced by Dolby.

In his speech made during the event, Deputy General Director of VTV, Mr.Tran Dung Trinh stated: “We are very pleasant to cooperate with Dolby Labratories, Inc. – a well-known company in audio, video and broadcast industry. In almost a year of our cooperation, we’ve both assisted, united and attached to the anothertightly, which leads to the broadcast testing surround 5.1 system in liveshow “Bai hat yeu thich” of VTV tonigt.”

Mr. Tran Dung Trinh also hoped after the testing broadcast, the collaboration between two parties would become more successful and from Dolby side, the company would maintain the trainning and support to the technicians and directors team of VTV in order for other programs on VTV channels.

In addition, Dolby made a committment for a long-term partnership with VTV in producing programs, providing strategies for the transformation from using analog to digital terrestrial television technology of VTV.

The system of 5.1 surround sound consists of:a center speaker, often being situated above or underneath tthe screen, conveying voice; left and right speakers placed on both sides of the screen generating most of sounds; 2 rear speakers placed to the sides behind the audience and are responsible for background sound and echo.
