Trading on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE) advanced 18% to 23.34 trillion VND (956.36 million USD).
The VN30 basket, comprising the 30 largest capped stocks, witnessed 12 tickers fell.
Foreign investors were net sellers to the tune of VND358 billion, mainly selling HPG of steelmaker Hoa Phat Group and STB of Ho Chi Minh City-based lender Sacombank.
The HNX-Index for stocks on the Hanoi Stock Exchange dropped 0.10% while the UPCoM-Index for the Unlisted Public Companies Market fell 0.11%.
