VTV.vn - The rate of poor households in Vietnam has fallen by one percentage point to 1.93% as of September 2024, according to a government report.

Such a result was attributed to the effective implementation of sustainable poverty reduction policies in the spirit that no one is left behind.

In addition, nine communes with extremely difficult conditions in four provinces, as listed in a decision by the Prime Minister in 2022, have been recognised to exit the extremely disadvantaged status.

Last February, the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs announced the results of a review of poor and near-poor households in 2023 under the multidimensional poverty criteria.

Specifically, the multidimensional poverty rate was 5.71%, with 1,586,336 households. The overall poverty rate was 2.93%, while the near-poverty rate was 2.78%.
