Vietnam's Foreign Trade University won awards at Social Business Creation Contest

VTV.vn - Overcoming more than 140 competing teams from more than 20 countries, Vietnam's Foreign Trade University has excellently won several awards and titles in the final round of the Social Business Creation (SBC) Contest 2022.

On October 1, Vietnam's Foreign Trade University said that the university excellently won several awards during the final round of the SBC Contest 2022 held in Canada.

In 2022, Vietnam's Foreign Trade University received the Emerging Change Agent Award, one of two awards given to an educational institution that has a strong impact on global social business creation.

This is the second year in a row that the Foreign Trade University has been honoured and received the award at the contest. In addition, a project VECA - Mobile applications, that create an ecosystem to connect all parties in the scrap material flow, won third prize.

Meanwhile, three Vietnamese lecturers received the SBC Ambassador Award and three Vietnamese teachers won the Impactful Educator Award.

Social Business Creation (SBC) – an annual global competition for business projects with positive social impact, was organised by HEC Montréal Canada, a public Canadian business university, and Prof. Muhammad Yunus, the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize winner.

It is a global competition and an innovative training platform through which participants can learn about how to use market mechanisms to address social challenges.

Since its inception in 2016, the contest has attracted the participation of universities from many countries around the world, such as Canada, France, the US, Japan, Germany, Argentina, and Mexico.
