Vietnamese war veterans in Czech contribute to homeland

VTV.vn - Vietnamese war veterans in the Czech Republic recently gathered in Prague on the occasion of the 74th anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army (December 22).

At the meeting, Duong Dinh Tuy, President of the Vietnamese War Veterans’ Association in the Czech Republic, reviewed the development of the Vietnam People’s Army over the past 74 years.

The participants paid tribute to soldiers who sacrificed their lives for national liberation and freedom.

Colonel Cao Hung Trang, defence attache and Nguyen Duy Nhien, President of the Vietnamese Association in the Czech Republic lauded the important contributions of the Vietnamese War Veterans’ Association to the Vietnamese community in the country.

Nhien urged the war veterans’ association to work with the Vietnamese Association to encourage Vietnamese to abide by local laws and enhance the image of Vietnamese in the country.

Founded in 2017, the war veterans’ association has nine chapters and 500 members.

Over the years, the association has participated in movements to protect Vietnam’s sovereignty over its sea and islands and support families of war invalids and martyrs, as well as flood-hit residents and soldiers in border and island areas in the homeland.
