Vietnamese Teachers' Day celebrated nationwide

VTV.vn - A wide range of activities was organised across the country on November 19 in observance of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20).

On the occasion of Vietnamese Teachers' Day, November 19, Politburo member, Secretary of Party Central Committee (PCC) and Head of the PCC’s Commission for Communication and Education Vo Van Thuong paid a visit and offered congratulations to former Vice President Nguyen Thi Binh, who is former Minister of Education and Training (1976-1987); former Vice President, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Association for Study Encouragement, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Doan; and former Minister of Education (1987-1990), Professor, Academician, People's Teacher Pham Minh Hac.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, Politburo member Vo Van Thuong sent his best wishes to Nguyen Thi Binh, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Doan and People's Teacher Pham Minh Hac - the previous generations, who made many contributions to the education of the country.

With the best wishes from the Party and State leaders as well as from Politburo member Vo Van Thuong on the occasion of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20), the teachers believe that with the attention of the Party and State leaders, the education sector will continue to make new advances in the future. They also expressed their wishes for the Party and the State to pay more attention to the lives of teachers, and to improve the quality of teaching and learning in educational levels ...

On November 19, Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee held a ceremony to honour the outstanding individuals in the education sector of the city in the 2015-2019 period, on the occasion of the Vietnam Teachers' Day (November 20-11).

Accordingly, three individuals were awarded the third-class Labour Medal for outstanding achievements; one individual received a certificate of merit from the Prime Minister; 24 individuals were honoured with “For the Cause of Education” medals of the Ministry of Education and Training; 56 individuals were awarded certificates of merit by the Minister of Education and Training; and 129 advanced examples were awarded certificates of merit by the Director of the Department of Education and Training of the city.

On the same day, the provinces of Yen Bai and Thua Thien – Hue, Hanoi Medical University and Hanoi University of Pharmacy also organised many activities, such as a meeting, workshops and scientific conferences, on the occasion of Vietnamese Teachers' Day.
