Vietnamese President visits Singapore
VTV.vn - President Tran Dai Quang began a State visit to Singapore on Sunday after concluding his visit to Brunei earlier the same day.

The visit to Singapore was made at the invitation of President Tony Tan Keng Yam, with the aim to realise the foreign policy set forth at the 12th National Party Congress earlier this year, and intensify Vietnam’s foreign relations by fostering a strategic partnership with Singapore.

The two Southeast Asian nations have enjoyed thriving collaboration in trade, investment, security, education, transport, tourism, finance and law. Singapore now ranks third and eighth among ASEAN and Vietnam's global trade partners, respectively. Bilateral trade has risen sharply in recent years, hitting US$16.22 billion in 2015.
