Minister and Chief of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung paid tribute to the late second lieutenant on Sunday.
On Friday morning, an aircraft from Regiment 910 of the Air Force Officer School crashed. After taking off, the pilot reported an engine fault at 8:45am.
The commander of the training session ordered the pilot to return to the airport, but the aircraft crashed in Phuoc Loc Village in Phu Yen Province, approximately 4km away from Tuy Hoa Airport.
Trainee pilot Pham Duc Chung, born in 1994, died in the crash. Since the accident, the Air Defence-Air Force Service has been cooperating with agencies to carry out rescue tasks.
