Vietnamese people embrace Vietnam-US friendly relations
President Obama welcomed the US official visit by Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong
VTV.vn - Prospering relations between Vietnam and the United States have been thanks in part to the friendly ties between its peoples.

Nguyen Van Cau lost six family members during the B-52 bombing of Kham Thien Street in 1972. 43 years has passed and he still cannot forget his loss, but the feeling of hatred has disappeared.

As a volunteer during the wartime, Nguyen Thi Thoa witnessed firsthand the havoc that the US Army caused in Vietnam. But she embraces the American people of today.

Beyond the positive attitude, many have taken action. In fact, Vietnamese war veterans are actively supporting the US in the search for servicemen missing in action.

“The past cannot change, so we should leave it behind and look towards the future” - that’s the attitude that the Vietnamese people have adopted. And that’s also one of the messages that Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong affirmed during his recent visit to the US.
