This is a preliminary decision of the US Department of Commerce in the anti-dumping case against Vietnamese products.
In a preliminary decision, the US Department of Commerce claims that bagged products made from polyethylene or polypropylene imported from Vietnam are eligible for subsidies ranging from 3.24 to 6.15%. Based on the decision of the Department of Commerce, US customs will temporarily collect these products from Vietnam.
The US Department of Commerce began investigating this case in March after two US companies filed the complaint that the goods were subsidized and sold in the United States at prices below normal value. According to statistics, the packaging products and bags imported from Vietnam to the US in 2017 reached over 8.7 tons with total value of more than 21 million US dollars.
The US Ministry of Commerce is expected to make its final decision in mid-December.
