VTV.vn - An exhibition featuring Vietnamese lacquer paintings and fine art photos opened in Melbourne, Australia, on December 14.

As reported by the Vietnam News Agency, the exhibition has attracted the interest of many overseas Vietnamese living in Australia, together with local people and tourists.

They were introduced to images of Vietnam's heritages, as well as the country and people of Vietnam, displayed by lacquer paintings and vivid artworks by Vietnamese artists and photographers.

The exhibition features 10 lacquer paintings by big names in Vietnamese art, such as painters Tran Van Can, Nguyen Sang, Nguyen Tu Nghiem and Phan Ke An, along with multiple works of art selected from Vietnam's award-winning photos on the tangible and intangible cultural heritages recognised by UNESCO.

In addition, the event also displays publications promoting cultural tourism sites and images of the country and people of Vietnam, in a bid to make a bridge to connect Vietnam to the rest of the world.

The event is among the practical activities in 2018 to commemorate the 45th anniversary of the establishment of Australia-Vietnam diplomatic relations.

Held by the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in cooperation with the Vietnamese Embassy and Vietnamese Entrepreneurs’ Association in Australia, the event will last until December 18 at the Melbourne Marriott Hotel, Melbourne, Australia.
