VTV.vn - Dao Cua Dan Ngu Cu’ (The Way Station), a Vietnamese film directed by Hong Anh, was honoured with the Best Story award at the 58th Asia-Pacific Film Festival, which was held from August 31 to September 1 in Taiwan (China).

The film also helped Ngoc Thanh Tam, 25, bring home the Special Jury Award for Best Actress.

Addressing the awards ceremony, Tam said that the leading role in the film is an impressive moment in her acting career, expressing her thanks to director Hong Anh for trusting her with the role.

‘The Way Station’ was among five Vietnamese movies competing at the 58th Asia-Pacific Film Festival, including Co Ba Sai Gon (Miss Saigon), Co Gai Den Tu Hom Qua (The Girl from Yesterday), Khi Con La Nha (When You're Home), and Em Chua 18 (Jailbait).

‘The Way Station’ is adapted from a 1992 story of the same name written by Do Phuoc Tien. Famed writer Nguyen Quang Lap wrote the movie script in 1996.

It has won a number of cinematic prizes at home and abroad, including Best Film prize at the ASEAN International Film Festival & Awards (AIFFA Award) 2017 in Malaysia, and the Special Jury Prize in Eurasia Film Festival 2017 in Kazakhstan, among others.
