The number of international visitors in the first eight months of this year was estimated at more than 10 million, a year-on-year increase of 23%.
According to the General Statistics Office, visitors from Asian countries accounted for more than 77% of the figure. The number of European tourists rose by 10% year-on-year. Revenues from tourism in the first 8 months reached about 1.15 billion USD.
It is expected that the tourism sector will reach this year’s target of 15 to 17 million international visitors.
