Speaking at the meeting, Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen congratulated Vietnam on achievements in socio-economic development in recent years. The Cambodian PM also sent New Year greetings to all Vietnamese.
In his speech delivered at the event, Ambassador Vu Quang Minh said in 2019, both Vietnam and Cambodia witnessed important socio-economic achievements.
The year also marked records made in the development of Vietnam-Cambodia comprehensive cooperation, he stressed, noting that bilateral trade hit some US$5.26 billion, up 11.9% annually.
The Vietnamese community in Cambodia has made significant efforts to overcome difficulties, improve their living standards and legal status, and contribute to socio-economic growth in their second home country, the diplomat noted.
