Le Van Mui, Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in Vientiane, Laos, told Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper that Overseas Vietnamese communities in foreign countries and Laos in particular have received great care from the Party and State.
In his view, Vietnam’s economy has remarkably and comprehensively developed over the past years, ranking among world’s top 40 largest economies.
According to him, Vietnamese expatriates, particularly businesses, are proud of Vietnam’s breakthroughs in economic growth. We expect that Party will design more policies to facilitate the country’s sustainable economic development.
He also hoped for further policies on sustainable exploitation and use of natural resources and climate change mitigation.
For his part, Tran Van Nang, Director of Hanoi – Vientiane General Hospital in Laos, hailed that in recent years, the Party and State have adopted guidelines and policies targeting intellectuals and talents from both at home and abroad.
These strategic policies have encouraged overseas intellectuals to make further contributions to the national construction and defence, he said.
He believes that the 13th National Party Congress will continue to devise more policies targeting high-quality human resources at home and abroad.
He expressed his hope for more investment in scientific researches and construction of laboratories and major research centres which are equipped with modern facilities in line with international standards, in order to attract qualified scientists. Priority should also be given to providing preferential treatment for talented scientists, he added.
