Vietnamese doctors honored for work in South Sudan
VTV.vn - An honoring ceremony was held on Thursday to praise the efforts of the Vietnamese medical peacekeepers who worked at Vietnam's Level-2 Field Hospital No.1 in South Sudan.

The event took place in Ho Chi Minh City and was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh. During its one year in South Sudan, the hospital treated 1,970 patients.

Through their dedication and care for the local people, the Vietnamese medical peacekeepers have raised the status of the UN Peacekeeping Mission as well as the position of the Vietnam People's Army. At the ceremony, the Ministry of Defense awarded the National Protection Medal to the Vietnam Department of Peacekeeping Operations, the Level-2 Field Hospital No.1, and Major General Hoàng Kim Phụng, Director of the Vietnam Department of Peacekeeping Operations.
