The commemoration of the birth of Gautama Buddha is highly important for Vietnamese people in Ukraine as well.
Truc Lam Kharkov Pagoda hosted a ceremony yesterday to celebrate Vesak Day as well as the 10th anniversary of the pagoda. The event welcomed the attendance of the Vietnamese Embassy in Ukraine, the Kharkov's Administration of Religion and Buddhist disciples. This was also an opportunity to honour Vietnam's fallen soldiers in the fight for the country's independence and protection of national sovereignty. Moreover, many Vietnamese Buddhists believe this was a chance to pay their respects to their ancestors and honour the Vietnamese traditions.
