VTV.vn - A group of Vietnamese artists led by painter Nguyen Thu Thuy have unveiled a mural painting on the dyke wall along Seine river bank in Choisy le Roi city, France.

Choisy Le Roi has a close bond, friendship and solidarity with Vietnam since the city was the place where negotiations on the Paris Agreement on ending the war and restoring peace in Vietnam took place from May 1968 to March 1973.

The painting was inaugurated as part of events to celebrate the Vietnam Year in France 2019.

Entitled ‘France - Vietnam Spring’, the mural measures 3.5 metres in height and 40 metres in length. It was carried out in June by Thuy and her colleagues at the New Hanoi Arts Group, including Tran Dinh, Huy Quan, Cao Quyen and Dinh Huy.

The artwork depicts typical flowers of France and Vietnam, including rose, tulip, iris, lotus, and daisy, among others.

According to Thuy, it was an honour for her team to paint on the beautiful dyke wall along the Seine, a famous river of France and also worldwide; as well as contribute to the close friendship between Choisy le Roi and Vietnam.

The painting highlights a message that the vitality of spring and nature is a great symbol of the time-honoured friendship between the two countries and people.
